According to the last estimates made by the CNC, admissions in theaters reached 13.78 million in August 2011, down from 17.37 million in August 2011 (-20.7%).
For the first eight months of 2011, admissions totalled 132.41 million, a drop of 1.7% compared with the same period in 2011. Over the past twelve months, estimated admissions were 214.34 million. It increased to 5.9% year-on-year.
French Films market share in the first eight months of 2011 was 39.1% of total admissions. US features shared 49.2% of total admissions. Over the past twelve months, French films market share was 44.9%, 45.0% for American films and 10.1% for other films.
