According to the last estimates made by the CNC, admissions in theaters reached 16.95 million in July 2012, down from 20.06 million in July 2011 (-15.5%).
For the first seven months of 2012, admissions totalled 118.63 million; a rise of 1.1% compared with the same period in 2011. Over the past twelve months, estimated admissions were 217.94 million. It increased to 7.9% year-on-year.
French films market share in July 2012 was 40.2% compared to 35.1% in July 2011. US features shared 45.4% of total admissions in July 2012 compared to 47.7% in July 2011.
Over the past twelve months, French films market share was 43.6%, 44.6% for American films and 11.8% for other films.
