According to the last estimates made by the CNC, admissions in theaters reached 24.94 million in December 2015, up from 22.08 million in December 2014 (+13.0%). This is the second biggest monthly result since 35 years (1980, first year of monthly statistics).
France cinema admissions totalled 206.06 million in 2015, down 1.4% compared with the same period in 2014. This result remains higher than the ten-year average of 199.58 million. Theater attendance in France in 2015 remains the highest in Europe.

French films made 35.2% of total admissions
After an exceptional year in 2014 for French films with a market share of 44.4%, in 2015, the market share for French films decreased to 35.2%. The admissions dropped by 21.5% to reach 72.56 million admissions, a level lower than the ten-year average of 78.53 million. Over the last ten years, the market share for French films was 39.3%.
Strong increase in admissions for American films
In 2015, American films registered 112.24 million admissions, up 19.1% compared to 2014. This is the highest result since 1958 (112.90 milllion).The market share for American films is 54.5% in 2015 (45.4% in 2014). This result is higher than the ten-year average of 47.5%.
Non-French and non-American films gathered 10.3% of total admissions in 2015 (10.2% in 2014). Their admissions decreased by 4.7% to 21.26 milllion. This is lower than the ten-year average of 26.19 million and a market share of 13.1%.
Three films attracted more than 5 million admissions
As it was the case in 2014, in 2015, three films attracted more than 5 million admissions. 12 films gathered more than three million admissions in 2015 (11 films in 2014) and 23 films registered more than two million (21 in 2014). In 2014, 45 films totalled more than one million admissions (57 in 2014) and 89 films more than 500 000 admissions (92 films in 2014).

14 French films over one million admissions
Two French films totalled in 2015 more than three million, compared with four in 2014 and 6 French films racked up more than two million admissions (10 in 2014). Globally, 14 French films reached more than one million admissions in 2015 (20 in 2014). 36 French films gathered more than 500 000 admissions (31 in 2014).

16 American films registered more than two million admissions
In 2015, three American movies reached more than five million admissions (none in 2014 and 2013). Ten American films registered more than three million admissions (6 in 2014). 16 American films totalled two million admissions (12 films in 2014) and 28 films more than one million admissions (33 films in 2014). 48 films gathered more than 500 000 admissions (53 films in 2014).
